What I Learned in Bed
Last October I awoke one morning to discover I couldn't walk. Too many hours sitting moved a disc out of place. I had been building up to this, but ignored all the signs. Imagine a bucket of acid being poured down your leg. That's how it felt. My husband, Bill bought me crutches so I could at least get from the bed to the bathroom. Days and weeks went by and the pain wouldn't go away. All I could do was stay in bed and ponder the purpose of this injury.

Learning to Breathe
When it comes to alternative health practices, one of the simplest and most effective techniques you can use is to practice proper breathing. This may sound absurd to you at first, but many people actually breathe the wrong way. After years of being told to “suck in your gut” to look thinner and supposedly more attractive, most people have trained themselves to breathe with their chest rather than with their diaphragm. As a result, both lungs are not being used to their fullest capacity. This can then lead to a decrease in the amount of oxygen reaching your major organs.
