The Kyoto Accord and What It Means
In December 1997, over 160 nations met at the United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Kyoto, Japan, to develop an international treaty to deal with the growing body of evidence that global warming was a reality and the world had to do something about it. Five years later, the parties had come together in Kyoto to try to work out an agreement. It wasn't an easy task.
