Neuroscience: What is Brain Plasticity?
Neuroscience has changed considerably in the past 20 years. An example of change over period is the concept of brain plasticity. Brain plasticity refers to the brain's ability to rewire itself, relocating information processing functions to different brain areas and/or neural networks. Two decades ago, it was believed that brain networks were static after its initial formation period. Now that belief has changed. The study of brain plasticity has profound implications in human learning and behaviour, and as such, for mental health....

Breaking The Law
Evolution violates the foundational laws of thermodynamics. This paper examines evolutionary attempts to explain the first and second law and refutes them from a Biblical perspective.

Principles of Newtonian Mechanics
Newtonian mechanics, which includes Newton's three laws of motion as well as the law of gravity, is an amazingly precise theory of the dynamics of material bodies. Newtonian mechanics replaced Aristotilian natural philosophy shortly after it was proposed. As expressed in Newton's manuscript Philosophae Naturalis Principia Mathematica (Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy), published in 1687, Newtonian mechanics remained unchallenged for over 200 years.

Verified Predictions of General Relativity
Developed by Einstein in 1915, the general theory of relativity is the modern theory of gravity. This is a very complicated mathematical theory which in a nutshell says that space and time, collectively known as spacetime, is curved by the presence of matter and energy, and that the motion of matter and energy is influenced by this curvature.

The High Pressure Steam Engine - Not Invented By James Watt
Richard Trevithick was born at Redruth in Cornwall on the 13th April 1771, the fifth child and only son of the manager of the Wheal Chance copper mine near Cambourne. Richard attended the local village school but more often than not he played truant, due to his poor attendance at school his head master said he was disobedient, inattentive and a time waster. He invented the high pressure steam engine.

Animal Testing - More Common Than You Think
I once received a pamphlet from a friend when I was in college. He told me to read it and pass it on. The pamphlet contained information about animal testing. It listed the companies that still use it, and those that did not. I felt sad when I saw that many of the companies that did it were the companies that make many of the things that I use in my home.

How to Get a DNA Test
There are many reasons why you might want to get a DNA test. Although we often see DNA testing used in TV forensics shows, one of the top reasons for getting a DNA test is to determine paternity. DNA paternity testing conclusively determines if a man is the father of a particular child.

Biology-Insects-Locusts
Locusts are a group of grasshoppers which periodically form dense swarms and cause extensive damage to crops. Locusts live in warm countries such as Africa and India. The locust develops by a process called incomplete metamorphosis, i.e. there is no larval or pupal stage. The eggs hatch into nymphs which resemble the adult insect but they have no wings.
