    True Life Coaching Success Story
“Hey Man who are you!” I was sitting on a wall next to the Armory Park outside the Peabody Essex in historic Salem when this “Goth Chick”. Not exactly Goth, well you do not expect many of them to have a southern accent. It was more than her dress that made her seem out of place, or the accent. For this is Salem, and Salem loves Vampires and things of Halloween, but Red (for that is what I will call her in this article.) seemed a long way from home. Not the one in Tenenesee, but th

    Silence Worth $15 million
A moment of silence worth $15 million. Here’s the story.A growing diagnostic reagent manufacturing business had a bottleneck in its key manufacturing process. The line was running ‘flat out’ and the production team leader was under pressure to make more to supply a growing market. His boss called in an industrial engineer from the company’s central business services group. He arrived and spent time with his stop watch and notebook. This sounds very ‘60s thinking but it
I've been thinking a lot about how best to market a blog so that you really get good visitors. And one of the things I thought about were PPC ads and whether or not they were really worth the money you put in to them.

See…Whenever you sign up for Google AdWords or some other PPC service, you are paying money for each and every person that clicks on your link. However, the thing about this is that the people clicking your link are only reading a short, two-line summary of what your website is about. I’d say about 75% of the people who click your ad immediately click the back button after realizing your website isn’t what they were looking for. Where does that leave you? That leaves you having to pay for that click–and that leaves that visitor unable to find what they were looking for.

Things like this happen a lot. Let’s do a quick number game, shall we?

(These numbers are 100% fictional, and do not make up anything with my own personal website, nor do they reflect real-time numbers.)

Let’s say that the PPC company you sign up for charges you 20 cents for every person that clicks on your link. And then, let’s say that you put in your budget that you are only wanting to spend … say $100 per month on PPC ads. That means you can get about 500 clicks to your website for $100. Well, of those 500 clicks to your website, this is more than likely how your visitor click-through is going to break down:

    • About 350 unqualified visitors

Unqualified visitors is a term I use to describe visitors who went to your website, however they weren’t interested in it, so they never come back.

    • Maybe 75 semi-qualified visitors

Semi-qualified is what I used to describe someone who comes to your website, finds it interesting, maybe tells a friend, but nothing every comes out of either of them.

    • Then you just might get about 50 miss-guided visitors

Speeding Up Word of Mouth Marketing
Word of mouth marketing helps boost your sales considerably as the trust is at work in this case. Your customers trust you and some other people trust these customers. These customers when recommend your offerings to their people then they try out the recommendation without any apprehensions. The process, though, is a bit lengthy but is very effective for promoting your business. Therefore, its important that the recommendation about your product is made public rapidly then o

Why A Collection Agency Is Your Small Business's Best Friend
Does the term “collection agency” put you on edge? If you’re like many small business owners, the mountain of debt you accumulated during startup might have been enough to make you worry about collection agencies every time you answered the phone. How to Sell Your Products Without Competition
Selling your products at shows can be difficult when you have a lot of competition. Although some show organizers are careful to have a good mix of vendors, it's not uncommon for other shows to have 20% or more of the booths filled with vendors in the same niche - which is a buyer's market and a seller's disappointing show. Before signing up for any show, ask the promoter how many other vendors in your niche will have booths. And if possible, find out what kinds of these item

They clicked the link thinking they were clicking something else–it happens a lot with Google AdSense ads.

  • With the remaining 25 visitors, you’ll probably get a couple of them who stay pretty up to date with your website and actually continue to visit you.
  • Now, obviously these numbers are completely fictional, however I use them to describe the PPC market the best way I can. So look at what you’ve spent here… You paid $100 to get 25 good, quality visitors to your website per month. What a rip-off, yea?

Let’s say you continue this trend for about 6 months. You’ve paid $600 total and what to show for it? 150 qualified visitors. Pfft. You’re better off throwing up posters on the bulletin board down at your city’s subway station.

You’re probably thinking…Well, how are some people able to do this so well, then? How come those people benefit so well from AdWords or other PPC programs?

The reason these people benefit well is more than likely because of the link-backs to their website, and the general all-around link base they have built for their website. I’m sure they’ve done quite a bit of link building for their website, and it’s paid off for them.

PPC ads are something that are either hit or miss, with a good 80% chance that you’re going to miss everytime. In my views (and I say in my views mainly because I’ve never tried wasting my money on PPC ads) PPC ads are 100% not worth the effort and cost unless you really have a good link-base and good, quality search engine rank. If you’re a brand new website just starting up, my words of advice to you: Do not purchase PPC ads and expect your website to become an overnight success. I recommend that you post good articles, good blogs and a good amount of content before you attempt to purchase anything that the professionals use.

Take it for what its worth…I’m simply providing my input on the matter.
