Making Money with EBay's Affiliate Program
If you've been on the web for a while, the chances are that at some time or other you will have taken part in an affiliate program. So how do affiliate programs work? They generally work by giving you a URL to send people to their sites that contain your affiliate ID, and then giving you a percentage of commission for each person who comes in using your link and signs up or buys something. For EBay’s affiliate program, it follows the same basic formula. Each user who follows your link to EBay, signs up and then bids on anything within 30 days, you will $20. What's more, for each existing EBay user who clicks through from your site and then places a bid or buys something, you'll get 10cents. So where can you sign up for EBay’s affiliate program? You can visit EBay’s affiliate program at ebay.com. Once you are there, just click on 'Join the Program'. You will then be required to sign up for Commission Junction, which is completely free of charge. So after you have signed up for the affiliate program, all you need to do now is to market your affiliate link to
to failure. You need to be able to identify and describe your niche market, from determining what problem the niche market is actively trying to solve and what they'll pay for (as well as how much they will pay) to what publications they read, what groups/associations do they belong to, and where they hang out both on- and off-line. Common Problems In Family-Owned Businesses: How To Reconcile The Interests Of All Family Members
Autologica presents the third part in a series of articles that address common problems and issues faced by family-owned businesses, based on an interview between Al McClymont, CEO of Autologica Dealer Management Systems, and J.C. Aimetta, an expert and coach who specializes in family-owned businesses.Al McClymont: It seems obvious that in every family-owned business there will be members that will work in the company, and members that choose not to. How can the interests of family members that work in the company and family members who do not work there, be reconciled?J.C. Aimetta: Well, first of all, it is necessary to understand that the family members who work in the company do so to make everyone wealthy, even those members that do not work there. Thus, a simple way of reconciling interests is to provide the family owners that do not work in the company with information. Offer them information about how the business is doing, how it is evolving. The simplest data is the balance sheet. An annual or biannual balance, so that th
What happens when your Internet marketing empire doesn't take off that quickly or isn't that profitable? Yyou feel like a miserable failure. So, then you invest more time and money to get more information, with similar results. Who really gets rich here? The people selling the information on how to get rich. It begins to feel like a hamster wheel in which you run and run and run but never get anywhere.

I've had a virtual online business since 1999, and it's neither quick nor easy. What I've discovered is that some people can exploit a particular strategy for a short time until someone or something shuts them down, and then they're on to exploiting the next newest strategy until it no longer works, and then they move to yet another new strategy. It's tiring just to write about this process!

As I reflect on my 7 years in business, I really wish I'd known then what I know now. Since I get a number of questions and inquiries every week from "newbies", or business owners new to the Internet marketing world, about how to get started in an online business, here's my list of 10 things I wish I'd known about Internet marketing when I started my online business:

    1. Niche your way to riches. Finding the exact market that needs what you have to offer is one of the primary keys to success in any business, but especially when you're trying to do business online. Taking a shotgun approach and foolishly believing that "everyone" needs your product or service is the quickest way to failure. You need to be able to identify and describe your niche market, from determining what problem the niche market is actively trying to solve and what they'll pay for (as well as how much they will pay) to what publications they read, what groups/associations do they belong to, and where they hang out both on- and off-line. A Simple Strategy to Keep Your eBay Customers
It is always great to make a sale on eBay. The sense of achievement and the monetary rewards gained from the sale really makes the feeling great. Do you want to have this great feeling repeated? If you do, then you need to achieve more repeated sales. How can you do that? Perhaps, you can consider this simple strategy. One strategy to acquired repeated sales is to retain the email address, eBay ID and mailing address of the customers who have bought from you before. In this way, you will be able to build your own customer base. Subsequently, you can send periodic announcements to these customers about other products which you are selling. However, you need to obtain the customers’ permission before you can send them these announcements. When the customers have completed a sale with you, you can ask them individually if they would like to be informed of other items sold by you in future. If they agree to have this information forwarded to them, then you can place them in your mailing list. However if they do not wish to be kept informed, then you have to

The Importance Of The Design Of A Forum
Design of a forum? For every forum software there are also themes (or skins) available. With those themes you can change the entire layout of your forums. Some of them are pretty basic, while others are very graphical. Most of the time you can find a big collection of themes on the support forum of your forum software. But there are also people that make their own themes and only put them on their own forum to download (or sell). Of course you can also just try to make your own, or tweak the default a bit to give it a more unique look. Why would I change the theme? The default one looks great! The default theme (the one that you get when you download the forum software) looks very nice sometimes. I personally like the default of SMF a lot.But if the default looks so great, then why would you change it to something else? To make a forum a success, you have to give people something unique or something that they don't see on every forum the visit. This applies to the content of your forum, but also t

How Your Habits Control Your Small Business Success
Habit: A consistent behavior you perform so frequently that it is automatic. For example, if you learned to drive a car with a standard transmission, the first few lessons were pretty jerky while you learned to synchronize the clutch with the accelerator pedal. If you released the clutch too fast, the car would stall. If you pressed the accelerator too fast without releasing the clutch, you raced the engine but you and the car were still sitting there! However, with practice, practice, and more practice, you learned to synchronize control of the clutch with control of the accelerator so that you don’t even think about it any more. It is now a habit. All habits consist of knowledge combined with skill from practice. What all this means is that you can learn new habits to replace those that are no longer working for you. You have to change what you’re doing, how you’re doing it, and the choices you make in order to change your business results. If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep gett

How to Build and Keep Your Email Marketing Subscribers
Email marketing and RSS are excellent ways to communicate with your audience. This is due to the fact that your audience is asking for your attention. They seek and find your business to aid them in learning more about your market. What more could you ask for?The digital world has made a large dent in the way consumers purchase products, receive information and educate oneself. This leads to why there is such a high demand for email marketing from consumers. Consumers see this form of marketing and promotions as highly beneficial to their pocket book and education. Most importantly your business has to show your consumers that you have email marketing. If you ask a lot of consumers if they have email marketing most will ask ‘what’s that?’ Instead if you ask ‘are you subscriber to our email?’ The response will be “No, but what does that offer?” or “Yes, I am. Thank you.’ The way your phrase and speak to your clients is important. Try to relate, if sounds to business savvy they simply won’t understand.Get your email marketing message out there and give

The more narrowly focused your niche, the better. So, owners of Golden Retrievers is a better defined niche than dog lovers, and executive female golfers is better than women athletes.

    2. Acknowledge your expertise. One of the great difficulties of online business owners is their inability to acknowledge their expertise in an area. It took me years to realize that while others did have a higher level of expertise than me, there was a very large group of people who knew less than me -- and it was to those people I could become an expert! And, better yet, they would pay me to learn it so they didn't have to go through the same trial-and-error method I did.

    3. Create a content-packed web site. Content relevant and useful to your target market, embedded with keywords that your target market might use to find you, are the magic wands that enable you to be found on search engines. For years, my web site was simply an online brochure with details of my service offerings. It was not until I regularly started writing articles for my target market and posting those to my web site and blog did I see a noticeable increase in both the amount of traffic to my web site as well as in my number of newsletter subscribers. If you've been in business for awhile, you've got a good idea of the problems that your customers face. Your articles can serve as the solution to the common problems and questions of your target market.

    4. Build relationships online. Even though an online business is virtual and you meet few of your clie
