How to Use Magnetic Business Cards Effectively
The use of magnetic business cards is often overlooked. Businesses tend to stick with what they have used over the years, and end up missing out on some new techniques that can help them expand their customer base. All business owners know that marketing is a key factor in growing a business. After all, if nobody knows about your product or service, nobody will buy your product or service. That's elemetary. I like to think that my approach to business is 1 part experience, 1 part research and 2 parts common sense. I know my business; that’s my experience. I read as much as I possibly can to strike a balance in my efforts between tried and true and newer methods of business planning and marketing. But to me, the most important, and often lacking in my opinion, is the common sense part of running any business, especially online.

I do not claim to be an expert in SEO or SEM or any of those acronym concepts. In fact, I’m not sure who legitimately can claim to be. In my observation, the rules to those theories seem to change daily if not more often. However, like most online entrepreneurs, I do try and pick up as much as I can from all sources in trying to market and run my business.

    Problem Solving
All of us solve problems in our daily and professional lives. Although we perceive some of them to be ‘big’ problems, most are not. What if you had the following problem to solve: You are asked to “fix” an IT (information technology) problem in your $250 million company. It seems all of your order processing and product distribution systems are unable to cope with your business volume and you expect to triple your volume in the next two years. This will require you

    Resistances To Marketing a Practice-Part 1
If you are a therapist, counselor, or an alternative or complementary health practitioner (naturopath, homeopathetic doctor, massage therapist, body worker, etc.), in all likelihood, you are not only uninformed about effective marketing methods, but you are also likely to have some negative feelings about self promotion and marketing. When it comes to marketing a practice, knowing how to market effectively is essential. Negotiation - Planning For A Successful Outcome
In any kind of negotiation the planning stage is probably the most important. Too often we go in badly prepared and end up giving concessions that reduce the overall profitability of the final deal. The importance of planning is in having a very clear idea before entering into the negotiation i.e.• What are my objectives?• What does the other side wish to achieve?• What information will influence the final outcome of the negotiation?• What conc

We are constantly inundated with tips, tricks and techniques for getting more traffic and finding new leads. Please don’t think I’m discounting any of those or disparaging those giving advice. On the contrary, I think it is necessary to take in as much information as possible in determining your own strategies. The problem, in my eyes, lies in getting too involved in these “new” concepts and losing sight or doubt your innate sense of how to do things.

I am not suggesting any hot new modes of marketing, nor am I guaranteeing any way of making thousands of dollars a week! I am merely suggesting that before, during and after implementing any new techniques, you always take a look at your website and all your materials from your customer’s point of view. Better yet, have someone else take a look.
