Editors, reporters, talk show hosts and program managers need to know, beyond a doubt, that if your name is associated to a story, it’s about a project that’s sure to be done right.3. Don’t Wait For The Big Story You need to keep your name alive in the news room. It’s impossible to have a reputation if your name only come

How To Alienate Customers and Destroy Companies
Microsoft PowerPoint is the defacto standard business presentations and slideshows. They’re quick to produce, and easy to update. In many cases they’ve replaced proposals and business plans and it’s not uncommon for Federal procurements to require both a proposal and a presentation. A PowerPoint presentation may be all that stands between you and funding or you and a contract. Unfortunately, because it is so easy to use it is also easy to abuse and can spell disaster for even the most experienced presenters. A successful presentation is a visual aid and not a visual distraction. The following tips will help you avoid common pitfalls and help avoid alienating your customer and destroying your business.1. Special Effects Video clips sound and transitions can divert the audience’s attention from the message to the effect. Giving a special effects burdened presentation can also turn into a comedy routine if it hasn’t been well rehearsed so that the presenter and the presentation a

Your release is well structured and packaged, leaving just writing the head-line remaining.Unfortunately with little time remaining you hastily put together the headline and send out the release but fail to hear from any interested journalists. Why? A poorly written headline will fail to attract the attention of a reporter, journalist or editor.Let me give you an example."Triple Bottom-line Community Net Benefit Decision Time for Sustainable Economic Development Decisions Needed Says Economist"This is an actual headline on a media release from MacroPlan Australia published in 'The Australian' Media Section on Nov 13, 2003.Would you want to read more if you got this on your fax machine or email inbox? How can you write better headlines? Here are m

A Great Marketing Model - Utilizing the Power of OPM
Staying ahead of the marketing curve seems to be a never-ending quest. Marketing doesn’t have to be as complex as some people make it out to be. It’s simply a matter of understanding who you are marketing to – your ideal customers – and then coming up with a system that keeps your name in front of them. A huge part of the system is creating enough value for your customers that they want to hear from you.Another aspect of marketing is knowing how to continually reach and increase your market in the most cost effective manner possible. One way to increase reach and do so cost effectively is to find other businesses who share a similar market. These can be complimentary businesses and even competitors. Airbus Embellishes Jet Orders Every Year to Keep Up with The Boeing Company
Although lately Airbus has chilled out a little on the embellishment of the orders given to it by both Corporate and Government Airlines or Government Agencies it seems the practice of counting your chicken before they hatch with bird flu is alive and well in the European Union with Airbus Company. You know I have a problem with Airbus and their claim of orders taken for new jet airlines. It claimed in Farnborough World 2000 Airshow, that it had sold 12 A330s (about 33 Billion Dollars if it were real) and none of them ever were built and no substantial deposits were taken, is this a kind of Proforma type hype to move the markets. What is the difference, it is still a lie. Why is this bad?Well, it hurts Boeing’s stock, who has to tell the truth and yet our government does not go after Airbus as they lie like a rug? What a complete double standard we have, but if Boeing did that they would be on them in 2 seconds like flys on mad cow dung. (This is an excellent analogy cons

You may be naturally shy or lack self confidence. Or perhaps you never learned how to speak about your business in a way that compels people to buy from you. Regardless of the reason, if you run a business or work for yourself you’ll find it much easier to be successful if you sharpen your sales skills and get comfortable in this role.

If the situation I’m describing rings a bell, here are some steps you can take to turn your fears into success:

    1. Get clear on your market positioning.
What does your company stand for in the eyes of your prospects? What makes you different? Who’s your ideal client? What “pain” or problem
