What Can Star Wars Teach You About Creating a Buzz for Your Business?
Many people think marketing is some type of mystery that only a few select people know the secret too. In fact if you look at the entertainment industry you will find some of the best models to follow. Let’s look at George Lucas and Star Wars. How long before the movie came out did you know it was coming? How many different places did you see an ad for it, someone talking about it, or writing about it? How many different ways does he tie in to advertise his movies that are “outside” the entertainment industry?Find your sourceThe first thing you need to do is find out where your people “hang out” in the real world or surf on the internet. There are many sites that people go to and many place that the

Managing the Union at Your Workplace
As management members and business owners we detest dealing with unions in our businesses. Unfortunately, the government has allowed people to collectively bargain for compensation & wages, benefits and terms of employment. This leaves many companies at a loss for an effective labor relations strategy.Unions are on the decline due to the constricting of the U.S. economy and the slowing of the manufacturing sector. Since the union’s traditional base is disappearing they have been seeking new business by unionizing hospitals, food & service workers, hotels, etc. This push by unions to increase business and expand their membership has forced many companies to become less efficient and more costly to manage.Medical Billing technology has witnessed continued expansion during the first two months of this summer, as evidenced by press releases about some ninety products accumulated in BillingWiki. A practice manager may find it difficult to select the best product from such a large product variety. This article roughly tabulates some eighty-five press releases about medical billing technology products and/or vendors across two-dozen service categories.

Asset Life Cycle Management: Products that help healthcare organizations optimize the performance of their capital assets, uncover hidden expenses, gain more visibility and control over their asset and facility operations, and improve safety. Such systems also serve as repositories for hazards, alerts and recalls facilitating a closed-loop process that documents the hospital's course of notifications and corrective action. See St. Croix and LYNX.

Audit and Compliance: Products that help providers and payers to manage compliance by facilitating internal audits and planning external audits respectively. Such systems assist an auditor to spot errors, omissions, fraud, and abuse. Solutions span spectrum from basic audit reporting to complete automation of the audit process by using data mining, natural language processing, and statistical methods to produce a random sample of medical records, data scoring, and potential revenue loss estimate.

    Import Export Financing Alternatives
Usually, the biggest limitation to the growth of an import/export business is its ability to obtain working capital. Many times, getting the right financing can spell the difference between a company that will grow and be successful and one that will not.Getting working capital can be a significant challenge. Banks will only provide business financing to companies that can show a couple years of financial reports, have profitable operations and have owners with good credit. But what if your company is a startup? Or, if you can't qualify for a business loan?Fortunately, there are import export financing alternatives that don't rely on your business history, but rather, they rely on the strength of you

Remembering Customers' Names - The Fail-Safe Guide
My next-door neighbor has the longest sleeves you have ever seen, I don’t know how he gets any work done with his hands all tangled up in those lengthy tube like frustrations. Although he and his wife are clearly a good couple she is always wearing a shoal over her head (no matter what the weather is like). In fact I think that a good portion of the town that I live in could be going a bit bananas. A few weeks back we had an air conditioner guy come to the house and sure enough when he arrived he was wearing a giant teddy bear costume. I understand that the costume could very well protect him from the cold arctic blasts from over-zealous air conditioning units but don’t you think we have gone a little over

Producing A Franchise Model For Franchising Nations; A Waste Of Brainpower
Many people who think a lot come up with brilliant ideas and concepts. Sometimes these concepts are nice schemes for a Utopia, which does not exist and perhaps cannot exist until someone gets busy and makes it happen. Often ideas are shot down using this exact argument; that they cannot exist because the World is already the way it is. Other ideas are shot down for fundamental reasons such as who will sign onto the idea? Who will sell it and market it and most of all who will buy it.So then the concept of franchising nations using a winning model makes sense and that is a given, but say critics who will buy it? Are there any prospective buyers out there, such as third world nations wishing to upgrade? Criti

Marketing Tips 101 - Where Can I Get Clients From?
The following tips have come from a wide variety of sources; some from other successful businesses we know, some from our Home-Based and Small Business Support Group meetings and some we've developed by trial and error. Some of the ways to get clients are: contact previous employers; mailing lists; cold call your target market; attend group meetings and seminars for your target market (conventions for doctors, lawyers; computer seminars); attend local Chamber of Commerce meetings; join groups related to your target market; if your target market uses a specific system, for example accountants use the SafeGuard system, contact them and tell them that you are available to teach them how to use the system or y
