Co-Dependency and Food: Trying to Fill the Void
Nice girls don’t speak up. Nice girls take care of and support others. These are just a few of the messages girls often receive as they are socialized. Often in adulthood, these ingrained messages turn into full-blown co-dependency. Years can go by. Unmet needs build up energy; they demand attention. But without learning skills in setting boundaries, letting others feel their own pain and makin

    What’s the Big Deal?

The big deal is that so many people are star struck, trying to keep up with the Jones or what they have been fed about success, they never really know what they’re looking for. Take a look around at the people you meet daily, you will see ver

Dieting 101 - Choosing the Right Diet Foods
Diet fads come and go but the Food Guide Pyramid seems to continue to stand the test of time (even though they have reissued a new, up to date one. We know that we gain weight because we move less or burn off less energy than we consume. Therefore, if only we eat just enough or burn more energy than what we do now, we will lose weight right? Well, that is the ideal situation. Unfortunately, it
Unfortunately society has subliminally defined success for all of us without us even being aware of it. All you need to do is look at any commercial, listen to any radio advertisement or read the newspaper and you will see what I’m talking about. Ads for bigger cars, more money, exotic vacations, high priced clothing and the ads go on and on. Families suffer the most because Americans get caught up in ‘Bigger is Better’ and continue to grow their lifestyle well before they can afford it, then the inevitable happens, they need a second income, children end up in day care and you know the rest of the story…..it doesn’t end well and that’s a whole other topic.

    Stop the Nonsense

Every person should take some time and decide what success means to them, and I’m not just talking about a passing thought, take a month to figure it out. Spend 4 hours a week for a month and decide (with your spouse, if applicable) what you want your life to look like. Be specific and detailed about the areas you are looking at, from family vacations to how many times you eat out, otherwise in a few weeks you’ll get caught in the same game all over again.

    Eddie the Erroneous E-Marketer
Poor Eddie the e-marketer has been plagued by errors in judgment all his life. From always picking the longest line at the toll booth to buying lots of dot com stocks right before the bubble burst, he constantly struggles with making the right choices. >From disagreeing that a car really needs oil changes every three thousand miles to insisting that the eight-track is going to make a comeback,

Despite 'Not Guilty' Verdict - Doctor Who Examined Yates Is Unconvinced
One day after a Texas jury found Andrea Yates not guilty of murder by reason of insanity, a psychiatrist who examined her tells ABC News he's still not convinced.Forensic psychiatrist Michael Welner interviewed Yates for fourteen hours last May, roughly five years after she drowned her five children in the family bathtub. What’s the Big Deal?

The big deal is that so many people are star struck, trying to keep up with the Jones or what they have been fed about success, they never really know what they’re looking for. Take a look around at the people you meet daily, you will see very few genuinely happy people (Regardless of what they drive or where they live), I believe it’s because they are caught in this cycle of wanting the newest, biggest and best that’s on the market. The sad truth is by the end of their life they will have missed so many opportunities to have been their for their children or friends because they were to busy acquiring stuff, stuff that after a couple of weeks is ignored like a new movie you just saw.

    To Recap

First, grab your calendar and set a specific day/days and the exact hour you will sit down with your spouse and ‘decide’ what success means to you. There are a series of question in my Goals for Life book that will help you discover what’s important to you.

Second, after answering the questions, you’ll need to figure out how you can immediately make changes (some people hate that word, if you are one of them fight through it) and set a specific date that you will start to implement them. The key is to have a plan, start slow and realize it might take you a couple of years to complete your “Success Makeover”.

Third, stay focused on the end result of ‘your’
