The Healing Arts: Exploring Heart-Consciousness, Part 2; You Can Remember It
In the last installment I presented just a few examples of knowledge that science has gained that indicates the heart is not only a pumping organ, but also a center for the assimilation of information. These few were chosen to allow a mental picture to help bridge the gap between concept and experience. I’m well aware of the dangers of leaping to conclusions based on just a few facts. Were not allusions to heart-consciousness so much a part of all cultures, however, this information would not have the implications it does. But when you tally the list of people from all walks of life throughout all ages who have spoken about working with this seat of consciousness, and then learn that there is empirical evidence to support that your heart also conducts “brain-like” activity,
In a previous article, I introduced mindfulness training as a largely unrecognized, but highly valuable, form of skill training for network marketers. This follow-up article outlines four specific ways that network marketers can increase their success by developing and applying this intrinsic internal resource.

Mindfulness can be defined very simply as "being aware, moment to moment, of whatever you're experiencing, without judging it." This deceptively simple definition fails to convey adequately, however, both how challenging this can be, on the one hand, and its enormous potential power on the other.

Mindfulness is an intrinsic and basic human capacity, much like speech or musical expression. Although humans have applied it in endless ways and to varying degrees throughout their history, its cultivation through intense formal training was first introduced by the Buddha about 2500 years ago as a key way of promoting spiritual development. Since then, it has been cultivated and practiced very intensively by hundreds of millions of people devoted to spiritual development--most commonly within the context of formal meditation. It has also been highly emphasized in many of the martial arts.

Although mindfulness is of crucial importance in ANY activity demanding a high level of sustained, skillful performance, such as with professional athletes or musicians, it has rarely been taught as a separate discipline in these areas. Recently, however, there has been an exception to this general rule: In the 1990's, Phil Jackson introduced members of the Chicago Bulls basketball team to formal mindfulness training in coaching them to 6 NBA championships.

Over the past 25 years, the practical application of mindfulness training has become increasingly common. Courses in mindfulness-based stress reduction, for example, have proliferated, and mindfulness practice has been found to be an effective therapeutic intervention for people suffering from chronic pain, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders.

In general, mindfulness has at least four major and highly important benefits:

    1) It enhances the level of satisfaction gained from any experience that is intrinsically pleasurable. For example, a portion of chocolate eaten very mindfully will bring far more delight than if it's consumed mindlessly--that is with diminished conscious awareness of the extremely rich sensory experience it entails.

    2) It enhances one's ability to cope with any experience that is intrinsically painful or unpleasant. For example, when people with chronic pain learn to relate to the pain mindfully, it commonly diminishes, or--at the very least-becomes much

Saving for College? Put Your Kids to Work
If your kids are approaching college age, you’re probably starting to think about how you’re going to pay for it. Most parents don’t start doing much until in the few years before college – which is often too late. So how can you pay for those huge college expenses? One partial solution is to get your kids to help out as much as they can. There are lots of ways to do this. First and foremost is getting a job – a lot of parents don’t want to do this, especially because of the risks that grades will suffer. If your child is likely to be competitive for a scholarship, this is a very important consideration, and you probably should go that route instead. If not, it actually isn’t that harmful to work part time – five to ten hours a week doesn’t interfere with studying much at all. If the alte

Hip Resurfacing Surgery Tourism to India
What is the procedure for Hip Resurfacing Surgery? The actual procedure of Hip Resurfacing surgery is much less invasive than conventional Hip Replacement. The area of arthritis in the hip joint is cleaned and shaved out. The surgery for Hip Resurfacing consists of the femoral head being shaved and re-shaped to accept the metal cap with small guide stem. The size of the femoral head is about 50 mm in diameter. The metal cup is set into the pelvis. The parts mostly used for Hip Resurfacing are made from Cobalt-chrome cast. These parts are shaped precisely by a machine to fit each other with small space for body fluid to lubricate. The backside of the cup has a roughened surface to allow bone to grow into implant. One end of the cup is fixed over the ball of the femur bone, and the other en

East Europe Countries - Best Investments
The New Zones for Real Estate Investing are Most Productive, this truth being known for the beginning of every new happening. The entrance of the East European Countries: Romania and Bulgaria in the European Union, is a good opportunity for investors in Real Estate to participate by now, at the profits that will come through developing there Real Estate domain, that meaning: homes, offices, apartments, plants, farms.Speculative investing is a very good opportunity too, the prices are still low, and growing "langsam aber sicher", as germans investors are saying.Speaking about Romania, we can observe that it is a middle range country, having 20 Million people, and a wide surface of cca 230000 sqkm, that meaning 90 people/sqkm, three times lower than in western european countries. Stock Market Investment: Spring Cleaning
The markets have been a bit wobbly recently. Inflation has been spotted rearing its ugly head and that has created some mini panic. Not too long ago the big worry was deflation. And before that it was something else, bird flu and bearded terrorists, acid rain and global warming and all kinds of other assorted mayhem. I’m not saying inflation doesn’t exist, in fact it’s higher than generally reported. But I doubt whether it is the monster currently being blown up by the frightmeisters. The dogs that didn’t bark during the recent spring storms are gold and the 10-year treasury yield. Both didn’t move much. More important, nothing has changed in the global setup whereby Asia continues to hold inflation down. In the USA and Europe wage costs are driving inflation much more than commodity inpu

For example, when people with chronic pain learn to relate to the pain mindfully, it commonly diminishes, or--at the very least-becomes much easier to live with.

    3) It enhances the performance of any other skill. So, for example, a highly skilled musician will perform most effectively to the degree s/he is mindful; the same is true for a highly skilled figure-skater, marathon runner, airline pilot, mountain climber, etc. In other words, the more fully and consistently present we are while engaging in ANY activity, the less likely it is that we will make mistakes.

    4) It provides a method, par excellence, for overcoming negative mental and behavioral habits of all kinds. By definition, to whatever degree we are mindful, we are not "running on automatic" and, therefore, are much less likely to engage in unskillful habits of all kinds.

So, with this as background, here are four correspondingly basic ways that network marketers can apply this remarkable meta-skill to enhance their levels of success greatly.

    1. By relating more skillfully and effectively to other people, which is of utmost importance in this industry. Other factors equal, the more mindfully present we are while interacting with others, the greater will be the level of rapport that we are likely to develop with them. This is a necessary condition for winning their trust in increasing their receptivity to whatever we have to offer to them.

    2) In coping with the many challenges and adversities that are intrinsic to this industry. By consciously shifting into mindfulness, any unpleasant task--such as, for example, calling large numbers of leads--becomes incredibly easier. In carrying out such a task mindfully, it becomes what can be called an exercise in "non-doing;" that is, by staying mindfully aware of the moment-to-moment PROCESS in making each call--instead of focusing on its hoped-for OUTCOME, cold calling becomes just one more way to practice being fully present in the moment. You might be amazed at how effortless "cold calls" can become when you become skilled in "non-doing" them.

    3) By providing the specific means of actually implementing Winston Churchill's famous dictum: "Never, ever, ever give up!" One of the most crucial
