She is very confident within herself and when she thinks about something she does much research into the subject. Though she knows some subjects really well, she doesn't learn things in order to boast in the knowledge she has, rather she uses knowledge to make informed decisions. She will wait another year or so for you to ask her to marry you, though at this stage she is ready for you to ask her. She has much faith in you and she can see your potential. In fact she has given you some sound advice in the past and you have on many occasions taken her advice when making a decision. She will make a good wife for you and God would be happy if you married her."

Both the boyfriend and the girl looked at me in shock.

"Is that true? I asked the girl.

"Yes that is true. How do you know all of this about me?"

"I am a good friend of Jesus and He has told me all of this. As you can see someone told me all of this information about you. Jesus wants you to know, that this boyfriend of yours is worth the investment in time and in the right time your boyfr

Is it some new fad that is getting attention in the churches?

Are you gifted in the prophetic? Have you been used in the past by the Lord to give a prophetic word to someone He has directed you to? Do you operate in the gift of word of knowledge, word of wisdom, or prophecy?

To some people prophetic evangelism might sound hard.

The subject of ministering the prophetic to total strangers may seem hard. As a person who used to drive taxi cabs for a living prophetic evangelism is just a really fun thing to do. It is exciting to see the reaction of a person when the Lord through a word of knowledge, personal prophecy and a word of wisdom in the form of a direction or course of action they should take ministers.

To some, it might be something new and something exciting. To me ministering in the prophetic to strangers is very rewarding and it gives me such a great feeling to touch people with the fact that Jesus lives today and is still able to surprise people with His personal knowledge of them.

You'll remember when Jesus used a Word of Knowledge with the woman at the well. The full story is recorded in John chapter 4 We pick it up here:

Jesus said to her, "You are right when you say you have no husband. 18The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true."

"Sir," the woman said, "I can see that you are a prophet.

When someone delivers a word of knowledge even today amongst unbelievers it is met with surprise and it gets a person's attention. Prophetic evangelism is doing just that! Getting the attention of a non believer so that they are open to the message that Jesus loves them and knows them and wants to have a relationship with them.

My first prophetic encounter

It first happened to me five years ago. It was way before God raised me up into the prophetic and way before I really knew what personal prophecy was. It was an exciting encounter and something that I will always remember.

Though this was a Christian the Lord used me to witness to it could have been someone unsaved. I didn't know her.

One day I was walking down George street in Sydney and a thought came to my mind and said, “ Go to Mc Donald’s on George street and on the second level on the right hand side there is a girl in black pants and a red top. Go and talk to her.”

I walked down to Mc Donald’s wondering whether my mind was playing tricks on me as this was the first time anything like this had happened. This was five years ago. Sure enough I went into Mc Donald’s and there was a girl as described sitting where she was meant to be.

I went to order a large coke as I was pretty nervous and wanted to have an excuse to be in the Mc Donald’s and to sit down as I didn’t want her to think I was some crazy guy trying out pick up lines. As I ordered I asked the Lord for more information. He told me, “Her mother is dying of cancer and I want you to comfort her.”

As he said that my heart was moved with compassion and His love for her. A scripture verse says perfect love casts out all fear and as He filled me with His love for her my fear of approaching her left me. I also had compassion for her. The information the Lord gave me of her personal life and her situation is what Paul describes as a word of Knowledge one of the gifts of the Spirit mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12:7-10 It was similar to when Jesus met the woman at the well and the Holy Spirit gave him the information that the lady had had five husbands and her current boyfriend she wasn’t married to.

So filled with love and compassion I went and sat down next to her.

After a minute of drinking my coke I asked her if anything she was reading in the paper was good news

“No” she smiled and laughed

“I guess that’s why we read other peoples bad news in there, it makes our lives feel better doesn’t it?”

“Yeah.” She agreed smiling and looking at me to continue

“How is your mother?” I asked

Her eyes grew wide and she asked me curiously, “Do I know you?”

Right at this stage I didn’t know how to proceed. Up till then it was Matthew with his ability of engaging any stranger in a conversation. But now I needed help and I needed more information. I looked to the Lord in a split second and he started to play a picture of this girl in my mind by her bed and as I saw that the Lord Jesus put these words into my mouth.

“No you don’t know me but I know someone that knows you really well and He has sent me to come and talk to you. Last night you were beside your bed praying and you said to Jesus that if he doesn’t answer your questions you are never going to speak to Him again and you are going to stop going to church. Since he can’t be here to answer your questions he has sent me to answer them”

Her eyes filled with tears and I could see that what I had said was right but this girl was shocked and trying to get her mind around what was happening. She asked, “Is this for real?”

“Well all I know is that Jesus told me to look for a girl dressed like you and told me your mother is dying of cancer and to come and talk to you.”

Now tears ran down her face and she had nothing to lose by saving face. She moved forward in faith that I could deliver the answers she wanted to ask Jesus.

“Why is my mother dying?”

The answers that the Lord supplied using me as the mouthpiece are what is called prophecy another gift of the Spirit.

She’s tired. She is in much pain and she wants to die and come to heaven to be with me. She has only held on so long as you won’t let her go. You need to let her go.

“What about me? How can I cope without her?

“I want you to be close to me. I want you to depend on me like you depend on her. I want you to find rest in me and comfort for your soul in me.”

“Will I make it?”

“Of course you will my dear. I am in control of your life and you can trust me. Just like today I sent a person to answer your questions so too I can answer all your questions from time to time. Trust in me I know what I am doing and I will heal your pain. Your mother will be very happy here. Let her go.”

The girl was so overcome and yet she was so happy to hear what she had heard. IN the process the Lord had used the gift of Knowledge with me, the gift of prophecy bringing his words to her, and the gift of wisdom giving her direction as what she should do, that is let her mother go.

Jesus had a girl at the end of her rope and she was threatening Jesus never to have fellowship with Him again and to walk away. Many people leave God through a major disappointment. We are always hearing stories about it.

Many people would like to tell me the gifts of the Holy Spirit don’t exist anymore. And yet I have hundreds of encounters that are similar to this where God has used me to give a person a special individual personal message from Him. I have seen many tears flow and seen many lives touched and my Jesus has never ever been wrong with what he has said to anyone. What about a prophetic evangelism experience?

On the 5th of December this year at night at Mc Donald's in George street Sydney, the same location as the one above, I was sitting next to four Asian youth. They were happily laughing and eating when I said hello to the guy sitting next to me.

"Is this your girlfriend here", I asked pointing to her.

The other two people asked if I could tell them things about them and the Lord showed me things about them also. The whole four of them were shocked at the revelations. One of the girls asked if Jesus only has nice things to say about them. I told her that He mostly only reveals good things to me regarding a stranger. Seh pushed for me to tell her something that is bad about her. Jesus spotlighted a character trait that was not good in her life and then told her what He wanted her to do about it.

The four left happy and each with a card I gave them.

I had planted a seed in the young woman's life and it touches my heart that the Lord is interested in marriages even if the people do not know Him.

So are you encouraged to witness in prophetic evangelism?

I have a web site, of which this is a part of which encourages Christians and unbelievers to write in and request a prophecy from the Lord. Is that something that would interest you? Each week I am led to speak to more then ten people on the streets of Sydney where I live and have the joy of encountering many people touched by the Lord words to them through the prophetic. My prayer is that you also step out and use the gifts with the unsaved in your community. The two ways the Lord works with me in prophetic evangelism.

There are two ways that I minister the prophetic to strangers. The first way I really like. The first way goes like this. I will be going about my business and be out and about in the public and as I am walking along a person may catch my eye. Now for a guy there are many girls around that catch a guys eyes, but this is different. The best way I ever had it explained to me is like this. Imagine you are operating a periscope in a submarine. You know that's the round looking glass that they extend above the water to have a look around to see what is on the surface.

Well imagine that you have one of them. First you would put it up and then you would move it around and look around in a circle to see if you spot anything. Many times you will be moving it and you might see something and yet you might not stop fast enough from turning it and you might have to turn it back to look at it. When you see something stand out and you have identified a ship, you then go to the captain and ask for orders.

Well just say a crowded restaurant is the sea. You look around and across the faces of the people in the room and if the Lord wants you to minister one will stand out. The best way I can explain it is that you need to look away from the one that you think is standing out and look around the room again. When you come back to look at the person again and they are still standing out you can just look at them for a while.

Then comes the time where you go to the captain. When I see a person in a crowded place and they stand out, I will ask the Lord does He want me to talk to them. He will normally reply with a yes, or to some The Spirit will give you a sort of resonance in your spirit. Then it's just a matter of waiting on the Lord for the message, which doesn't take long. As soon as the Lord gives you the message, that is normally enough confirmation in order to proceed.
