But then, the next bit of news coming from Iraq is that 157 are confirmed dead in Baghdad, where a market was bombed. This bomb immediately torched market stalls and engulfed the market, vehicles and people. It is anticipated that the death toll will be much higher due to the large numbers of injured people.

It seems to me that in the media and amongst politicians, deaths in Iraq are of no consequence anymore. They have become so common place that nobody blinks when outrageous numbers such as at the Baghdad market, are killed. But when a group of students in America get killed then it is beyond hysteria in the media.

Possibly those grieving people who have lost their young sons and daughters or knew them as friends or co-students, might just in their pain and suffering remember that Iraqi people feel the same when their loved ones are senselessly killed. There is no difference between a student being killed and a person at a market in Baghdad. If the world would actually understand this, this horrific senseless stupid war in Iraq would be stopped.
