Actual for You - The Innovation Mindset
Ebay Forces Cross Sellers To Use Paypal ea innovation, or a culture of innovation, there are three key drivers, a model that I use with my clients or in my teaching. They reside just a few centimeters down your own scalp, in your mind, not in any handbook or your library. Granted, some people seem more able than others to exercise them, but my three proposed engines of innovation can also be cultivated, taught and nurtured. And, if this is Not many are aware that as of the 23rd of May, Ebay has introduced a new seller policy that all international cross sellers. (i.e sellers who are registered at one country but also list their items in another country) can no longer list their items in any other country other than their registered country unless they have a verified paypal account. Now Ebay's reason for doing this is to claim it is to prevent fraud, but one may ask how about those sellers who do not use paypal, who only accept cheques or bank wire? A service acknowledged by the banks themselves as extremely safe for both parties, as a trace can be placed on the bank account in the case of any irregularities or seller non performance. Ebay is still adamant that such sellers, still must have a verified paypal account inorder to cross sell.Of course what many seller's suspect is this is not about preventing fraud at all (if that is the case, then should not all sellers, regardless of location have verified paypal accounts? Some already fear that this is what this is eventually leading to, that inorder to trade on Ebay you must use Ebay's own payment brand, and may be forced to submit your credit card details to paypal (as part of it's verification process, the ramifications of these in the long run are well known to sellers who have had to deal with fraudulent chargebacks) ) Some sellers suspect t Pool Table Manufacturers Joe has been made redundant after many years in the company. He is the victim of cost-cutting, re-structuring, right-sizing, re-deployment...of a re-something. A friend comments: “There he goes. Poor Joe. 20 years of experience going out the window.” The re-engineering consultant overhears the comment and hits back: “There he goes: Joe, one year of experience repeated 20 times.”Pool tables and snooker tables or billiard tables have for long been associated with high fashion of the rich and the famous. In recent years though, the trend has been changing. What was earlier restricted to the posh and the world uptown, has been slowly finding its way to the downtown alleys. Most pubs and gaming zones around the country are now equipped with not one but a multiple number of pool tables. Enthusiasts of the game are no longer limited to the high-class clubs, but have found their way to the local high school and even middle school.Manufacturers of pool tables too have had to change their business strategies for the same reason. The pool tables available now are no longer very expensive. They are in fact quite affordable. This is not to say that designer pool tables, which reek of sophistication and class, have disappeared altogether. They are still very much there, as exquisite as ever.Different kinds of pool tables are manufactured to meet different requirements. Manufacturers of pool tables have come up with different sizes and varieties of pool tables made of different materials. A number of pool table manufacturers now supply family sized pool table. These are portable and are usually imported from China. The standard size of a pool table is seven feet and most of these tables are manufactured in Taiwan. Mini pool tables of a number of other sizes are also manufactured As the joke goes it is a clever one that has converted a sad part into something that many people can relate to. Many jobs and tasks have to do with repeated processes with little room for change or improvement, let alone new ways, new thinking and what we broadly call innovation. Indeed I know many who would argue that, in most cases, the last thing you want is innovation – you want the assurance that the task will be done within well defined borders and under well defined rules of the game. Regulated industries such as bio-pharmaceuticals produce environments where the invocation of regulation is very heavy and usually used as a driver to justify a rather conservative view of things. Usually those voices mistake, whether consciously or not, regulated processes with total rigidity as the way of getting things done. Not only is there always plenty of room for maneuvering within a regulated framework, but also the framework often does not include things that we are just happy to attribute to it. Innovation needs deviation, but most of the time this starts as a mindset, not as a break from a standard operating procedure. They have year round possibilities and abundant labor. Also they have trade deals with China for inexpensive parts that need to be made for these on the road vehicles. I see a problem for the areas of Indiana, the northern areas and parts of TX where coaches are made. Also in the Carolinas, Virginia and Oregon. If these manufacturing facilities move over the border we will lose another round of jobs. Remember when the appliance businesses and furniture businesses moved over the border, followed by automobile factories. Many Mining industries too. NAFTA creates a place for this and our own labor and facilities are not paying attention to it. We now have another reason, the costs of steel and other metals with Import taxes up.Monterey Mexico has capacity and labor to do these jobs and the parts are cheaper and the railroad delivers. Finishing touches can be done there and the trucks and frames built there, fiberglass and painting laws for environmental issues make it needed, I cannot see a single reason that companies like Winnebago that are hungry to shave price and keep their newly rocketed stock at the all time high after 9-11 as people chose motor homes to travel rather than risk air flight. The media has scared people into not flying and keeps issuing warnings of terrorism, an Innovation needs deviation, but most of the time this starts as a mindset, not as a break from a standard operating procedure. Not only is there always plenty of room for maneuvering within a regulated framework, but also the framework often does not include things that we are just happy to attribute to it.The Team:Nobody is blessed with ALL the skills it takes to make a successful business. That’s why most businesses have a management team, a creative team, and a technical team. You have to figure out where you fit into that team.If you feel like you are very creative, but don’t have the skills to carry out the technical process, it is very important to find someone who can. What a Programmer Can Do For You:First of all, it is important to know that programmers are probably the least creative people in the world. Programmers don’t know how to match colors, don’t know what “looks hip”, and definitely don’t know how to market themselves or their products. So, when you do hire a programmer, you have to be ready to explain every little detail about your program down to the smallest color.A Program That Solves Problems:When creating and designing a program, you have to figure out, first of all, what a major problem people are having, and how your program is going to solve it. And, if this is the case, this is good news for children’s education which is surely where it all starts."Gallup research over the past 30 years has shown that top producers in every role have substantially different talent profiles than average or poor producers in the same role." - "The Right Fit" - The Gallup Organization. Most managers agree that hiring the best person for the job is perhaps the most important step they will take in ensuring their team's long term success. In the pharmaceutical industry each company receives 500 resumes a day from those seeking an opportunity to be hired on within the industry. In fact looking at these numbers from a percentage point of few, you have a far better chance of being accepted to one of the nations most prestigious advanced degree programs that to be hired as a pharmaceutical sales representative. If your resume has been one of the hundreds reviewed and you are now preparing for a series of interviews, we are here to help. Most pharmaceutical companies either interview candidates right out of college, or are looking for candidates who have sales experience with another company. Which ever group you fit into, if you are like most people, you don't go through interviews every day. Whatever your background, you will benefit from the coaching and training we can provide you regarding what pharmaceutical managers are looking for and how they go about the interview and hiring process. If you have worked very closely, and for a long time, with Paul, Peter, Mary and Joe in a team, even if they come from several disciplines, chances are you know their points of view on things. You may even consider them very intelligent and knowledgeable and therefore, surely, a good source of fresh new ideas. And you are probably right about the ‘good’, but not with regards to the ‘new’. There is an embedded predictability within the group. You know each other too well and although good ideas may be generated, they are unlikely to cross the border of the predictable and expected. Those borders may still host a very rich pool of ideas, no question about that, but limitations are created by the very nature of the borders. To seek unpredictable questions you need to tap into looser connections with people or groups which you do not know much about. In other words, the team above – which could do wonde
