    Are Lay-offs the Only Option?
Corporations have many constituents. But they seem to play to only one audience – the investment community or Wall Street. Any business is made up of workers, supervisors, managers and executives. They also have customers, suppliers and in many cases dealers or distributors. They have facilities in cities, towns and communities. Some have factories and others have only offices. But the fact is that all corporations touch the world they operate in beyond the narrow confines of where they raise money through investors – or Wall Street. So why do almost all corporations decisions revolve around how Wall Street will react? Are there alternatives? What is the problem? Most

Change is a tricky thing. If you are someone contemplating the changes that will occur by becoming a successful small business owner, it will be helpful for you to have a bird's eye view of where you are along the continuum.

To that end, Dr. James Prochaska and Carlo DiClemente developed a Transtheoretical Model of Change in 1982 that has been applied to everything from weight loss to drug addiction with great success and acclaim. Though their model has never before been applied to those considering starting up a successful small business, it is a very relevant model that will help take the pressure off individuals thinking they should be further along than where they are, and provide a compassionate understanding of where each person is along the scale.

Are Your Policies Driving Your Customers Crazy?
Are you inadvertently driving your customers crazy with your company policies? Not sure?Well, imagine that a customer who's been with your company for a while with no complaints finally has a reason to contact customer service because of what appears to be a billing error. She assumes the error will be corrected quickly and she'll go on her way.Instead, your customer service rep recites a convoluted procedure she'll need to go through to rectify the issue, much to the customer's astonishment. The representative explains by saying, "I'm sorry, but that's our policy and we have to follow it."That procedure might be driven by an arcane control issue in your company -- o

    Techniques for Workplace Stress Relief
Most people experience stress some time in their life. It can come when the environment is providing stressful conditions or it can simply be brought on by the body's own mechanism. Undoubtedly one of the leading stress related conditions is that of the workplace. Indeed there is a very significant number of people taking time off work because they are stressed, leading to massive loss to businesses, not only because of sick days employees take but also because it leads to a lack of concentration, poor or reduced performance, tension and irritability leading to workplace conflict. Work stress relief is thus a beneficial program to be provided by an employer. If employees are not funded

Work At Home Based Business Opportunity And Fishing
What is the relationship between fishing and search engine optimization? It does not have direct relation. But a rule does not exist to relate a thing with another one. In the truth this relation appeared when I was to take my younger son and his friend to a fish. They have 8 and 9 years old, respectively. And as well as I, they are learning to fish.On the other hand, at a new work at home based business opportunity, I am learning to use search engine optimization. They are tools to attempt to gather all the pages that are in the Internet world and rank these according to the search phrase typed in by the user. The point here is: when we catch the fish pole

The Precontemplation Stage (Not Currently Considering Change)

This stage could really be called "the precursor-to-change" stage. This is the stage when individuals may not even be thinking about becoming small business owners. In fact, in this stage, they may not even be aware that it would be beneficial for them to make a change, though other individuals around them may be thinking that they should. This stage's motto is: Ignorance is bliss.

How to know if you are in The Precontemplation Stage:
1.You're not really thinking about starting up a small business.
2.You are basically okay with how things are.
3.Others may be voicing their concerns about the hours you are keeping, the stress you seem to be under, or how much you need to take a vacation.

Those in this stage do not intend to
